Plans & Free Trial

Kite offers a free option to get started plus paid plans that unlock more features. This page describes the tiers at a feature level so you can pick what fits — without getting lost in the details.

The plan tiers

Kite has a small set of plans, from a free option up to plans built for businesses.

  • Free — A no-cost way to build and explore Kite. Great for trying things out. Some features are reserved for paid plans (see below).
  • Creator — A paid plan aimed at individuals and freelancers who want to publish a real site with their own branding.
  • Business — A paid plan for businesses that need the most capacity and features.
info

Plan names, what each includes, and prices can change. Check your current options in your billing settings before deciding.

Features that need a paid plan

Some features become available once you're on a paid plan. Typically these include:

How the free trial works

A trial lets you experience paid features before committing.

  1. Start the trial from your billing or upgrade screen.
  2. Use the paid features included in the trial just as you would on a paid plan.
  3. When the trial ends, you'll either move to a paid plan (if you've added payment) or back to the free option.
warning

When a trial ends and you don't continue on a paid plan, paid-only features stop working. For example, a connected custom domain or a removed badge may revert. Make sure anything important to your live site is covered by an active paid plan.

Common questions

Do I have to pay to try Kite? No. You can use the free option without a trial, and start a trial or paid plan whenever you're ready.

What happens to my site if I stay on the free plan? Your site keeps working, but paid-only features (like a custom domain or badge removal) won't be available.

How do I change or cancel my plan? See Manage, Cancel, or Downgrade Your Subscription.

What if I run out of credits but don't want a higher plan? You can buy top-up credits. See Buy More Credits.
