Troubleshooting
Something not working? Most Kite hiccups are temporary and easy to fix. This section walks you through the most common issues, what usually causes them, and what to try first. In most cases your site and your work are safe — the problem is just getting in the way of seeing it.
In this section
- Preview Won't Load — the preview pane spins, times out, or shows up blank.
- Editor Frozen or White Screen — the editor stops responding, the chat box is locked, or you see a white screen.
- Undo Changes & Version History — recover your site after an edit you didn't want.
- Database Connection Errors (SSL Required) — your site can't connect to its database.
- Emails Aren't Sending — form notifications or other emails fail to go out.
Before you contact support
A few quick steps fix most problems — refreshing the page, waiting a moment and retrying, or reopening your project. Try those first (each article below walks you through them).
If you still need help, reaching out with the right details gets you a faster answer. When you contact support, please include:
- Your site URL or app link — the address of the project you're working on, so we can find it.
- What you were trying to do and what happened instead — for example, "I asked Kite to change my homepage header and the preview went blank."
- What you already tried — refreshing, reopening, a different browser, and so on.
- Any error message you saw, copied exactly or as a screenshot.
- A screenshot of the issue whenever possible — it's often the fastest way for us to understand what you're seeing.
- Your browser and device — for example, "Chrome on a Windows laptop."
tip
The more specific you are, the quicker we can help. Screenshots of error messages are especially useful.
